Yes, the result of this survey shows that 27% developers think that they are the best in the team.
This doesn't mean that 27% developers are the best in the team.
The actual statistics might be completely different based on % of successful IT projects in the world.
Life is a computer program and everyone is the programmer of his own life.

...it could also show that 27% of developers care enough about code to have a presence on CodeProject and vote in a survey.
I'm retired. There's a nap for that...

Unless you're a team of one, you're not the best. There are some aspects which your teammates are better than you.
I work with one other technical guy, and a project manager-type. I happen to have a lot of experience more in the back-end levels, so I'm better at the database-related and lower-level code stuff.
My partner on this is much younger, and very good at the front-end and using the newer frameworks. So, he's better at that level, but not as experienced (as thus not as good at) thinking through the processes and problems of implementation.
Our project manager understands data, and really writes most of our reports. He's no match for either of us in the development area, but had really good ideas, and is very good at thinking up the business parts of the data.
All important aspects, and all valuable.

My technical manager learnt Obj-C yonks ago and hasn't kept up with developments and doesn't follow best practice. Everyone else is either busy migrating from somewhere else or an intern freshly dropped out of university. I'm the most experience/pedantic/OCD and I'm leaving because tech manager apparently feels threatened by my awesomeness and treats me abominably

I have to admit, I don't always do the best possible job.
Sometimes, I literally stop when I know it will work.
So, I am saying, the customer is happy, but I am not as proud of the code as I could be!

... that being said, I am a team of one, which also makes me the worst one

I guess I would select, "I am the team". Not a bad thing after all, is it?

have always hated focusing on this part because while I take pride in being productive my biggest focus is on making everyone else just as productive if not even more.

to me that is what it is all about.
you might be a super stud developer but if the team fails well then we all fail. even worse what if you are the super stud developer that no one wants to work with because you are arrogant?
I would rather have a team of developers who fit this whole mix of different types but are all working together to improve each other and make the team better.

Absolutely,
My favorite team of all time... We had a motto:
Everyday, just make something better!
And we did, and we loved it.

one of the best in my previous job.
New one... I suck. I am confident I will get into matter and be good, but right now...
I am happy about collateral things (family friendlier, much near home, not so often on the road, better paid...), but I am sadly not so proud on my own work.

Well, often the quality is related to invested time. I usually take more time to do better software than others but there are peoples that write a lot faster than me. Very few peoples are both fast and good.

I disagree, to an extent.
It may seem to take longer, but I find that it saves considerable amounts of time in the long run. The quick, clever code that too no time to write is generally a PITA to modify even slightly when the specification changes slightly, or a bug is found.
As a result, I "do the job properly" even when I am putting together a throwaway app to do one specific task, just once!
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

... and no task is ever done just once. If they want it once, they'll want it a million times. With a proper cover sheet.
