The actual statistics might be completely different based on % of successful IT projects in the world.

Unless you're a team of one, you're not the best. There are some aspects which your teammates are better than you.
I work with one other technical guy, and a project manager-type. I happen to have a lot of experience more in the back-end levels, so I'm better at the database-related and lower-level code stuff.
My partner on this is much younger, and very good at the front-end and using the newer frameworks. So, he's better at that level, but not as experienced (as thus not as good at) thinking through the processes and problems of implementation.
Our project manager understands data, and really writes most of our reports. He's no match for either of us in the development area, but had really good ideas, and is very good at thinking up the business parts of the data.
All important aspects, and all valuable.

My technical manager learnt Obj-C yonks ago and hasn't kept up with developments and doesn't follow best practice. Everyone else is either busy migrating from somewhere else or an intern freshly dropped out of university. I'm the most experience/pedantic/OCD and I'm leaving because tech manager apparently feels threatened by my awesomeness and treats me abominably

I have to admit, I don't always do the best possible job.
Sometimes, I literally stop when I know it will work.
So, I am saying, the customer is happy, but I am not as proud of the code as I could be!

I would rather have a team of developers who fit this whole mix of different types but are all working together to improve each other and make the team better.

New one... I suck. I am confident I will get into matter and be good, but right now... 
I am happy about collateral things (family friendlier, much near home, not so often on the road, better paid...), but I am sadly not so proud on my own work.
