Cannot continue the application is improperly formatted?

When I tried to deploy project in another machine which does not have .net framework installed when I tried to install .net framework by "dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe" it gives error that higher version already installed but that machin does not have any framework installed. but my project cannot run. what is the problem and what is the solution for this? please anyone help me.

Check the registry to see if there is an entry for a .NET installation.
