Regarding SSAS Database

Hi All

I have doubt regarding SSAS database. I think the process is while creating cubes from other database. the SSAS database reads all the data from Original database?

In other words, I have one database called "AdventureWorksDW", I have created SSAS cube based on "AdventureWorks" the ssas database named called "DemoSSAS". that means the demossas database reads data from AdventureWorksDW db?
