Querying an OWL ontology

Hello All

I am a newbie to Semantic Web, I am just trying to query an OWL ontology. I know how to query it using SPARQL through Jena Fuseki server and through Protege, but after a while I knew that SPARQL is not powerful and I want to use another query language like (SWRL or SPARQL-DL or others).

So I need to tell me what API (like Jena or OWL-API) to use use with what reasoner and which query language. I just need to tell me which of them to use providing an example about that.
I am trying to read many things and I got completely distracted so I need an advice of an knowledgeable person.

Any help would be appreciated.
