I have the following environment :

Print Server : Windows 2008 R2

Print Clients : Windows 7/ Windows 8.1

I am upgrading my print queues on the print server to a recent version of the driver and the updated version as expected is pushed down to the clients.

I do not want the client upgrade to happen automatically as I am running a script in the print clients which does some stuff and does the a disconnection / re-connection of the point n print queues by itself.

I wish to know that is there some way to prevent windows from pushing the drivers down to the clients after upgrade?

I have used the point n print restrictions GPO on the domain controller machine and applied the following for my domain:

"When updating drivers for an existing connection" -> "Show Warning only"

This seems to have no effect whatsoever.

Any ideas / information will be highly appreciated.
