How to use Date and Time picket

Friends I am creating a application for my collage project and i need to put a function the calculate our age by the calculating the System Date and Birth Date. But i don't know that how to use date and time picker so i want to know that how to use it. if any buddy know about it so pleas tell me that, how to retrieve System date and how to separate them in int format, and how to get date from the control, like we get text from EditText by using getText() method like that...
