Validate database error

When I am trying to open one of a .dbf files I get an error: "Primary key property is invalid, please validate database". I figure out that index is corrupted. So I recreated the index, but got another kind of error: “Invalid database - please validate database”.
I am running Windows 7 and VFP 9. All files created in the same version.
What should I do?

Instead of trying to fix it yourself follow the instructions given in the error message and validate the database[^]

That link is the to SQL Server reference. If you are using a different database you'll need to look up the relevant instructions.

Make sure you have taken a backup.
