i am wondering that 2005 didn't support the xlsx file... because xlsx come out after 2.0 freamwork

i am going to make a program that convert txt to excel ( .xlx and .xlsx) i didn't start the project now so i didn't

got a code to post sorry for that. i am on planning phase. Can any one help me with this question please so i

can figure it out.

another question did visul studio 2012 or 2013 exprees is free ? and is it really can use in a really small

company like only 30 employee?

Access to xls or xlsx files has nothing to do with Visual Studio, they are handled by the Jet or Ace engine libraries; see Working with MS Excel(xls / xlsx) Using MDAC and Oledb[^].

All the Visual Studio Express editions are free, but you need to check with Microsoft for conditions of use and licensing in commercial environments.
