transferring data from already deployed database program to a newer version of the program

I built a database program for a company with vb.net and sql server. Now, I needed to upgrade the software but they already has a lot of data in the software. How do I transfer the data in the already deployed program to the new version. Please someone should help. Thanks

SSMS has the ability to do that. See the import and export wizard.
