Hello,

I hope this is simply a case of me not finding an example but here goes.

I would like to find out more information on how to embed an externally developed C++ application into a Microsoft Office based application like Word or Excel.

I see there is Office automation software but what I am looking for is my app functioning like how Windows Movie Player or something similar does when it is embedded into a Microsoft Office application.

Any tutorials or information welcome.

Thank you.

hi,
i think the media player control that can be embedded in , say a word document , is an ActiveX control. So, you might have to do something similar i.e. make an ActiveX control of your app and then embed it.

It is no simple task, but I found a promising article Building an Office2K COM addin .

A good starting point for diving into ActiveX from Microsoft

Some nice stuff for dealing with certificates. Til then it is a long way to go ;-)
