windows phone emulator 8.0 not working

Hello,

I got a problem with my windows phone emulator. I used to work with visual studio 2012 on windows phone app development and all my emulators were working well. when i upgraded to visual studio 2013 emulators stopped working. When i start the emulator it shows the following message

"Windows phone emulator is changing the settings of the internal switch so that your emulator can function"

Then it shows

"Windows phone emulator is unable to create the virtual machine. Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

I would be thankful if anyone helps me out in this
