If you have a question for the author of an article you should post your question on the article's message board where the author is more likely to see it.

Solution 2

At the bottom of the article (just above the forum messages), there's a button marked New Message. Click this button and add your question in there. It's highly unlikely that the poster of the article will just happen on your question here, so you need to post it where they will see it.
