Hi Friends,

Requirement: I am having a site collection which is currently running in a SharePoint Web application. Now, I want to move this entire Site Collection along with its content to another SharePoint web application. Contents are nothing much, It is having only few document libraries with some hundreds of documents. And all are out of box features only :). Currently the Web application is running in SharePoint 2010. And the new application is in 2013.

Solutions already found:
1) SAVE the site collection as a SITE TEMPLATE from the current Side. Then use the same in the new Web application.

2) EXPORT all the information of the Site collection in the Existing Site. Then IMPORT the same in to the new Web application.

Now, I want to know from you guys, Whether the above solution will work out for my requirement or not.
Else what are the other ways present ?
Which one is most preferable ?

I can try and find out this, Since I don't have enough time & I am new to SharePoint, I have posted here for your suggestions.
Please post your comments guys!!!

Yes. Mentioned solutions will be applicable only if you are planning to move the site collection between the same version of SharePoint.
Else, It will go as Migration and with the help of "Content Database" only it will go.
