how to get list from wcf for windows phone

i have created service in wcf and i got some list .i want to get that list for windows phone app when the page got loaded .i dnt know how to do that ?i dnt know what is the meaning for async ,completed args in windows phone ...can anyone give detailed explanation? explanation with real time example needed
