hi,

on one of my machine we have sql 2008 r2 installed with evaluation setting. now when i open the sql management studio it shows a message that sql is expire please buy now...

i remove the sql 2008 r2 completely from my machine and try to reinstall it again but every time i open the sql management studio it shows the same message. can some one please help me ?

I guess you're using a trial version .Buy the license to change into a full Version

It happens because of Windows_Registry[^].Even if you reinstalled the product ,the windows registry still holds the info about the expirydate which is registered at the very first time on installation of the product

well i am doing this because i do not want to buy any. even sql express will work in my case cause this is a development machine and not a server where i am running real time applications.

Then go with Sql Express edition.

that is what i am trying on my machine that even after installing sql express edition it shows the same message to buy sql server licence.

clear the registry and try to reinstall it
