Iam searching for "The WHO Child Growth Standards" to use in vb .net programing

and i found WHO macros , here http://www.who.int/childgrowth/software/en/[^]

the WHO site says "All five macros, i.e. the R, SAS, S-Plus, SPSS and STATA macro calculate the indicators of the attained growth standards (length/height-for-age, weight-for-age, weight-for-length, weight-for-height, body mass index-for-age, head circumference-for-age, arm circumference-for-age, triceps skinfold-for-age and subscapular skinfold-for-age)"

so , what's macros ???

where to start understanding it ??

How can i use this macros in programming ??

thanks

There is nothing discuss before you explain what do you want to achieve. You never mention any language, platform, nothing...

1 solution

From the look of the page you link to, they are macros (i.e. simple instructions, similar to a program source code, but maybe more humanly readable) with can be executed by the ANTHRO software you download from the page.

It is very, very unlikely that the macros will work in any environment outside the WHO Anthro software without a complete rewrite for the new target environment.

If you mean those specific ones, then you need to find some documentation for ANTHRO and see what it says about them: every package that supports macros uses it's own language and syntax for them.
