fat32 pendrive not accesible in windows 8

The problem I am facing is that no external drive is working in windows even with full administrative rights.

You don't currently have permission to access this folder.

Click Continue to permanently get access to this folder. Clicking "Continue" causes the follow dialog box:

You have been denied permission to access this folder.

To gain access to this folder you will need to use the security tab. Now as this is a FAT32 drive, there is no security tab.

I have been scouring the web for an answer, but nothing seems to work.

There were some comments added to the original of this post in 2013 at superuser[^] - don't know if they will help.

For anyone else looking at this, there are more details here[^] that the OP did not include in this post, but were included in the 2013 post. Strange how both posters have identical collections of USB drives
