website slowing down in timely manner can anybody help me out. what can i do for it ?

Actually I have hosted one public facing site on ISS and when i restarted the serever its working smoothly for some time.  after some time website gets slow down, I checked SQL server for any locking, bust there no locking, now i thouth there issue at IIS level may at App pool or worker process or maximum I/o request.
 but i am unable to find the exact reason of it. So if anybody knows please give me the suggestons

It may not be related to the site itself. How do you host it? The problem could be at your hosting provider...

Did you check your logs? Do you see anything unusual there - such as SQL timeouts?
If you think it's IIS configuration related issue, enable failed request tracing for sometime and see what's wrong.

I seen in event viewer , on my site many unwanted hits are coming , will it cause performance slowdown ?
for every 2 seconds somewhere url is hitting continuously by adding some unwanted url string.

suppose www.xyz.com is my application hosted on cloud server

e.g www.xyz.com/policydeyail.aspx/~policydeyail.aspx/policydeyail.aspx/policydeyail.aspx/policydeyail.aspx/policydeyail.aspxpolicydeyail.aspxpolicydeyail.aspxpolicydeyail.aspxvv/policydeyail.aspx/

please guys help me out ...its on high priority... i am helpleass ,bcz i dint have that much understanding of handling server operations

Yes, number of hits do affect a website's performance. Web server has a limitation on the number of requests it can serve per second which depends on server's configuration and application architecture.
By the url and description that you have given, it seems someone is flooding your web server with large number of requests and probably trying to create a Denial of Service (DoS) attack on your website. I may be wrong though.
Track the IPs to see where these requests are coming from, if they are from same IP or different.
Do you have your own web server or hosted it on cloud / shared location?
