change screen resolution

Hi dears!
I want to know is it possible to change the desktop into 2 part
one that our program runs in it and another for other programs
like magnifier in win xp "it changes the resolution of the screen and make them smaller and after that it runs on top of the monitor where noting can run !!!!!!

No. Your screen resolution cannot be broken up into different resolutions in the way i think you are meaning.

I do not know how magnifier works, but suspect all it is doing is capturing an area of the screen below the pointer and performing some image operation (Zoom etc) and then displaying this in its own application window. Nothing fancy.

Something that interesting is that in magnifier(in win xp)it locates on top of the monitor and other programs run under it!!
