my office has a windows server 2000 and i have to host a php website on it. im using xampp to run the application.

Of course you can run Apache on Windows 2000. Are you having any problems?

the server already has an asp website on it.my doubt is that whether i could run php-apache combination by using some other port number(like 8080)

Solution 1

1. By all means. According to this: httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/platform/windows[^]

2. Modify the port in httpd.conf file and restart apache:
#Listen 80
Listen 8080
