Greeting ,

This Question is going to sound like the dumbest thing ever but somehow I am not able to figure things out.

I have done a training course in asp.net and c#. I know how to build websites using asp.net and c# but what I am not able to figure out is after acquiring the domain name (free) , how am I supposed to host it ?

I mean are there specific hosting services where IIS is installed or Do I have to install it on the hosting server I choose ?
Are there any ways to host an asp.net website for free, I have heard microsoft does it ?

Please Help me figure out this stuff please.

And It would be great help if you could tell me about hosting Flash WEbsites as well .

Thank You.

Try publish it...

The company that "gave" you the domain name is probably a hosting company, and the will likely have "parked" it on a default website for you already. Publish your website there and it should be hosted automatically. (See them for the exact details of where and how to do it)

Alternatively, find yourself a web hosting service that provides the version of ASP.NET you want and use that. Be aware that "free" hosting sites are ok for learning, but generally very poor for anything serious - you do get what you pay for!

You can self host: but that is quite complex to organise. Google can help you if you decide to go that route.
