Tracking an email using asp.net

I am developing a bulk mail management project in ASP.NET. I want to track who opened my mails. I have heard something about HTTPModule of ASP.Net. Help me up how to use it for the same. I will be glad if I get help with some coding.

This link might be helpful when only the recieved mail user willing to load the images that are exists in email(then only we can track the lists by using above link).

I had problem again here. I am not been able to track opens if it is gmail account. What to do?
