IIS8 Client Certificate Mapping

Good Day,
I trying to setup clientCertificateMapping in IIS8 on Windows Server 2012 and have very limited experience with this.
On my dev server there is already a certificate issued by the company. On my local machine i have a certificate issued to my account. I tried copying the certificate blob from my local certificate and adding it as an entry in the IIS ClientCertificateMapping one-to-one with my user account but this didn't work. Can someone explain why this is not working?
