Communicating with database server from application server based on separate locations

I have 2 cloud servers, one is having MSSQL 2005 database and other server is serving ASP.Net application. Please help me to connect both the servers. Both servers are having unique public IP addresses..... Thanks in advance

Can you please tell me in which manner you want to connect?
Mean you just want that application server use database of Database server then you can just change your connection string in Application server.

You can write IP address in server attribute of connection string.
