what is Settings1.settings in vb.net

can anyone tell me about the Settings1.settings template type find in vb.net, add new item dialog box. Can i use this to set settings for my application that can read or write at run time. And those setting will be applied at the time of starting of my application.

Actually i want to save some settings according to user such as font styles, colors for the forms
which will applied to the application when same user will start the application again.

how can i do this. if anyone has other solution for this tell me............
