how to host java webapplication in aws amazon

i have created account in aws amazon and created mysql db instance in aws relational db.
the db is connected in local system. But when i host on server it shows "mysql exception communications link failure". How to solve this type of problems or send me link for hosting the java web application using mysql database on aws amazon services.
