detecting cluster in java

i take input image segmentation, we have three clusters as an output so to make the approach fully automatic we should know which cluster is the road cluster. Road cluster is need to be identified because we need the right cluster in order to extract the roads otherwise our result we cannot get the right output.
To identify the road cluster we used the concept that road usually appear as elongate regions. So the cluster which has the longest connected component will be the road cluster
in above what can i do that finding cluster or how we can identify elongated region cluster
