how to upload audio file using windows phone 8

Hi, i am making an application and i want to upload an audio file from windows phone 8. I will make a webservice to upload my stuff to my own server.
now my questions are:
Q: Do i have to convert all audio files to stream? to send it over webservice? or there is a better approach to achieve that? or if there is a class inn wp8 that allows uploading and downloading as streams or anything available.
