Speech recognition fail !

Hi all,

I have developed a desktop app, that works on speech. for that I have installed windows speech sdk 5.1, and all worked fine. I formatted my system, and after all the installation I am not able to access my application as it is not recognizing any voice.

Under speech recognition tab I am not able to get speech to text tab.

I developed the app on windows 8 pro, and now also I am on windows 8 pro.

I am not getting what am I missing ? Please help.

This might be one of the most ignorant and possibly stupid questions to ever litter the internet, but here it goes. Is your microphone turned on/up?

Yes sir, all setup is fine. Everything is same as it was when application was working. Except the tab that says "speech to text" is missing. The default system speech trainer profile is working well. But not my app !

Very well. I am not sure what the problem could be, but I have seen simple issues like what I mentioned above occur. Someone with more knowledge in the area would be of more service.

I won't have put the question on internet unless my own investigation is completed. I even re-installed the Speech SDK but it doesn't really helped.

I beg you to re-read my post sir. The first sentence is in reference to my question about the microphone being on? I prefaced that seemingly simple and ridiculous question because I have seen it happen before and wanted to rule it out as a possibility.

It means that from your text it's hard or impossible to recognize a problem. A good code sample could help. :-)

Just have to ask to make sure. Have you installed all the same prerequisites that you had on the previous system?

Solution 1

"I formatted my system"
And now you have to set up speech recognition again. Create a speaker, train him, ... etc. In Windows.
After that, try againwith your program.
