From last couple of days I have been facing trouble while login into my laptop. In the screen where I need to enter password, at the time of entering password, if I am typing a character 's', the character is followed by a lot 'a' character. Hence the password textbox is filled by a lot unwanted character. Thank god I could log in as I have on screen keyboard which is working fine.

Keyboard character is working fine as onced logged in, on pressing 's' it behaves perfectly. ( no 'a' character follows 's') :)

I suspect this is a virus activity. I checked msconfig and registry (current user and software/run) but have not found any suspected entry.

Any body can give me some clue how can I identify whats wrong happening ? So basically I am looking for if someone can help me identifying what are services/programms are loaded at start up boot time and which file/services/program is responsible for user's credential checking.

Thanks in advance,

Thanks

You're probably never going to find anything looking through stuff by hand. Even if you found something, you're probably only looking at a small part of the "bugger" and will miss other stuff that will "reinstall" the virus.

I highly suggest trying a dedicated virus scanner and an adware/malware scanner instead.
