How to design a computer network ?

Hi,

I have a requirement where I need to design a network using VPN , LAN and WAN networks.
Below is the requirement :

Consider four intranets built using a combination of three-level hierarchy based Switched Ethernet and Wi-Fi having 20 Servers (all on Ethernet ports: five externally visible and the rest internal), 364 workstations (all on Ethernet ports), 1000 laptops / Tablets (all on Wi-Fi), one WAN router ( a Border Router, with three WAN interfaces, and one LAN interface in each intranet). If these need to be interconnected over the Internet such that secure VPN services and respective Intranet's requisite Security features be enabled, what shall be your conceptual choice and functional arrangement of the network-security-specific devices, interfaces and services such that VPN-specific and the rest of the services could be smoothly available to the users without compromising on overall system security.

Can anyone please help in making a network design for the same. Thanks !

Solution 1

We do not do your homework: it is set for a reason. It is there so that you think about what you have been told, and try to understand it. It is also there so that your tutor can identify areas where you are weak, and focus more attention on remedial action.

Try it yourself, you may find it is not as difficult as you think!

I understand you do not homework here, But I expextected some guidence or may be some pratical real time points to consider at this portal so that I can make my network design as secure as posible.
