I'm looking to release some code as open source but I want to ensure that my work is not licensed for the usage of immoral and/or illegal purposes. In section 5F of the CPOL, it addresses these concerns of mine. However, I would like to add specific examples of things included in the definition of "immoral", such as pornography, discrimination of race/ethnicity/religion, etc. I would state it something like "Immoral and improper purposes include, but are not limited to, ...".

Am I allowed to make these changes to the CPOL and use it for my projects or do I need to either find a license that states these things or just create my own license?

Don't you think that you should be asking the people that created the CPOL license and not some random strangers that had nothing to do with it?

Well, I figured that asking on the code project site would probably yield an answer from an admin. Also, I've found that most sites such as this want you to post questions in the forums rather than email them directly. Besides the question could benefit others right?

Why on earth would you think that? *I* would think that if I wanted to ask an admin a question, I would post my question where an admin would see it. But that is just me. Why would you think your question would benefit anyone else?

You need to talk to the Amin's directly.
Post this here: http://www.codeproject.com/Forums/1641/Article-Writing.aspx[^] they read everything there, but they can't read everything here due to the high volume of traffic.

That area is for article questions only...I don't think that it would be wise to annoyingly post in the incorrect location when I need something from the admins.

And the CPOL is the standard licence for all articles - so Sean (Admin who deals with complicated article queries) will have more experience with it than most of us.
Changing the text of licences can be a minefield - it's best to talk to someone who knows!
