Is coding possibe in C#.Net to read and download only inbox mails which are unread with out using third party dlls?

i have gone through several sites and i was able to write a code for my requirement using third party dlls, but i am willing to write my own code with out using third party dlls to read and download the inbox mails and its attachment, but all my searching was in vain, i am confused whether a layman can write a code for this requirement or not,can any one suggest me to the way out.

Of course it is possible. You can find source code here on CP for both POP3 and SMTP communication.
