Location where can I find windows live mail contacts and attachments stored on my hard disk?
Are the attachments stored separately in a different folder or they are in the *.eml file itself in case of windows live mail and outlook?
Are the attachments saved on the local machine or server?

Solution 1

The Windows Live Mail contacts are stored in a .edb file under a few folders
under
C:\Users\(yourlogin)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts
These folders are protected operating system files, so you have to turn on
viewing of those to see them.
