Where do I find the "Application event log" from a VS build? Need error detail

Greetings,

I am trying to compile/run an application (called MLPostInstall) that was converted from VS2005 VB to 2010 by the VS 2010 conversion tool. I get an error that the configuration is incorrect and should look in the "application event log" for more information. But, I can't find any such log. What file should I look for and/or where should I look? Thanks in advance.

Guess I can say no need to respond. I found the log and the viewer.
Now just need to figure out why there is a sidexside problem.

For anyone reading: Turns out that VS2010 does not like the VS2003 app.cfg file. Removed it from the project and all is well.

Solution 1

By default, System.Diagnostics.EventLog writes to the system event log, which can be read by the Administrative Tools applet "Event Viewer": just run "eventvwr.msc" to load it, or find if from the Control Panel.
