Resize iframe with javascript

I have a navigational menu made out of a list element (ul).
Each list item opens a different page in the iframe element.
I would like to know if there is a way to resize the iframe element (the width preferably)
through javascript coding or css3 for each page that has been loaded.

Is it possible and if yes, where should i begin?
