Measuring microphone input voice level in dB-SPL

I posted a question to measure speakers voice level in dB and got answer that it is not possible. I want to develop an application that measures dB-SPL of voices. If not possible with speaker is it possible with microphone to do so? Please guide me in this issue!

Solution 1

It's still not possible without external and calibrated equipment. You're every day microphone is not calibrated and it's not just a simple matter of getting the digital data from the stream and running it through some algorithm.
