Hi All,

I have been using Windows 7 Home Basic.. I want to host a website/Web Application created in Visual Studio 2010.

I know Microsoft doesn't support IIS in Windows 7 home basic so I'm looking out for options that I can use inorder to host a Website.

Can anyone provide me with some inputs how can I host website on Windows 7 home basic ?

Thank you :)

What do you mean by "host a website"? If you just want to run the website on your computer so you can see it, you can do that within Visual Studio 2010 (with comes with a built-in web server known as Cassini). Or, do you mean host a website on your home computer so that others can visit your website from their computers over the internet? Or, do you want to just host the website locally (so that only you can see it from your computer) without installing Visual Studio?

Thanks Allan , I will try this out and will come back with result .. :)
I think you cant do this with window home basic because minimum you need Home Premium edition of windows for that ,You can check this link

Now what you can do ,you will have to buy an update for it from Microsoft and then update it from Home basic to atleast Home Premium edition

Solution 1 is a good one. There is also the option to install IIS express... Can use web matrix for that.
