I have just deployed a new web site to our little dev server; the other devs want to play with it as well. The server is Win 2008 R2, with iis 7.5. While I'm on the server, I just add a hosts file entry that links a domain name, engenxt, to the localhost address, and I use that host name to access the site.
Now I would like other people, on the same domain as the dev server, to also access it through the 'engenxt' host name without, i.e. also 'just engennxt', and without me also changing all thrir hostbfiles.
