Wrong question. You should not "change cast" (what is it? :-), you should avoid casting between unrelated types.
If you have a problem with that, explain the problem, at least show the offending code sample.

You should not cast a "String" to "Date". Casting is only possible if there are a IS-A relationship exist. But you can convert a String value, which has a valid date format into a Date instance.
