How can i mute the input audio when make call with others ?

The problem is very simple,I just want to mute the input audio of my phone when in the call.I find many methods,but none success.So i ask this question here ,hope that if any one can help me .

Mute a call[^].
If that doesn't work, what does the instruction manual for your phone say to do to mute the phone?
