How to enable navigtor in jqgrid

Hi,
I load a specified number(maximum of 600 records) of records on the navgator(first,last,next,previous) button clicks. But the problem is the navigation buttons are not enabled. Even though its not visible I am able to click and fire the events like next_page,last_page etc and get the records. But I want to make them enabled. how to make it.
