Hello All. I have tried an Ajax based chat application. and it is working fine. Now, I want to develop an another web based chat application for my website. Suggestions please. Below is the brief details of my problem.
1) i want to develop chat application for my 'Online Learning' website. It will be there in a webpage along with Whiteboard which I created. Users will be One faculty and Students. In faculty login, faculty should be able to see all online students.( even if not, then it would be okay) and for students there is restriction like they can;t chat with other students, they can only chat with faculty.
2) It should be in one chat window only, that is multiple user chat. So, all the chats between students and faculty will be in the same chat window. Simply, students send a chat to faculty, it shows up on the chat window, and faculty can answer the chat.
3) If any student is making noise faculty should have something to disable the chat for the student.
Well, Quick suggestions please. if there is some sample, even then it would be great.
Thank you in advance.

1,2 and 3 are not problems or descriptions of problems. They are your requirements for what it is that you want to do. So go do it and come back here if you run into a real problem or even have a question to ask.

yes they are my requirements, I am not asking you to give me codes for them, I am just asking you to suggest me, Suggestions like from where and how I can begin my coding, All I wanted is a direction to start it. And I am not a professional programmer,I am a beginner, a student who is learning. So if you can't help, at least don't show me rules of CodeProject. Thanks !

It does not work like this here.

Here is what is expected of enquirers:
1. TRY first what you want to do! You may find that it's not that hard.
2. Formulate what was done by you that looks like an issue/not working.

Try them and tell if you face issues.
