working with maps on mobile app

I am About to start working on a project(for my study) that contain maps
the project is (taxi service system) and it is for android mobiles so i need map & GPS

the problem is that i dont know what i rely need??
do i need to work with graph & graph theory????

Do you know about Google Maps and how to implement it in Android?You will find a number of articles related to Google map and Gps in Android.Start learning how to implement those..
