Biometric / Fingerprint API For .NET Developer

Lately i started research on the use of Biometric/Fingerprint API for .NET Developer, i come across a bunch like Neurotechnology, SourceAFIS etc. The first one is well documented and have a very large support for scanners and everything that entails biometric but the free version has some limitation. Please can anyone reference any biometric API that support different biometric scanners and well documented with Verification, Identification and Enrollment at the basic level.

Get the SDK from the manufacturer of whatever scanner you are using.
