Delay in Capturing video from webcam and record those videos.....

Hi all,
I am working on a project "Exchange of Multimedia information over a Wireless Adhoc network"...
Now the question is i am getting video with a quite large delay...
And also i want to record those video conversation but i don't know how to do that......
So plzzz help....
