how to get answer on single button click.

I am having leave report. In that form having textbox which is used to enter range to search a person who taken leave greater than that particular number. but when i click button after giving range i does not giving right answer if i click second time i giving right answer. I want right answer in single click. Please give me a solution for this problem.
