Hi there,

Are there any Hex Editors, that you can use, to Change Values in just a particular Column rather than a block ?

For example changing all bytes, to a particular value in the first column i.e. 00, or another selected column, to whichever offset you want to go down to ?

I have a file I would like to try that for ? I have not found a Hex Editor, I can do that with.

Any help and info would be much appreciated.

What I have tried:

I tried selecting the Bytes, in the first column in the HxD Program, but it only seems to allow blocks, or individual bytes to be selected.

This is not a programming problem question. Your best bet is to use google: hex editor - Google Search[^]

Probably not: binary files don't have "rows" or "columns" - those are arbitrary constructs created by the editor in order to conveniently display the data to you according to the address of the byte in the file.

Most hex editors chose to display the date by the address in hexadecimal - but some use octal or even decimal instead. That doesn't mean that every 16th, 8th, or tenth byte in the file has some special significance to the application that is intended to process the file.
