The audio technologies in iOS support the following audio formats:

AAC
Apple Lossless (ALAC)
A-law
IMA/ADPCM (IMA4)
Linear PCM
µ-law
DVI/Intel IMA ADPCM
Microsoft GSM 6.10
AES3-2003
